Beautiful interior design space

What working with
Novala actually looks like

There are many interior designers in the Klang Valley. Here's what sets the way we work apart from the standard approach.

Six things we do well

Deep local knowledge

Eight years working across Kuala Lumpur means we understand local building types, climate conditions, supplier ecosystems, and what renovation projects in this city actually involve.

See it before it's built

Our photorealistic 3D renders give you a genuine sense of the finished space before a single item is purchased or a wall is touched. Decision-making becomes significantly more comfortable.

A pace set by you

We don't pressure clients through design decisions on a rushed timeline. The process is paced to your comfort level — whether that means moving quickly or taking time to think things over.

Fixed, transparent fees

Our service fees are fixed and communicated upfront. There are no percentage-of-budget charges or hidden consultancy costs that inflate as your project grows in scope.

On-site presence during builds

For clients in the renovation phase, we offer hands-on coordination — managing the relationship between contractors, suppliers, and the design intent so things stay on track.

Contractor-ready packages

Our design deliverables are structured so contractors can work directly from them — reducing back-and-forth, minimising misinterpretation, and helping the build run more smoothly.

Local design knowledge, not imported templates

A lot of interior design in KL draws heavily from overseas references — which can produce beautiful results, but sometimes produces spaces that feel slightly disconnected from the context they're actually in. We start from the building, the light, the lifestyle, and the neighbourhood.

Our team has worked across landed homes in TTDI and Bangsar, condominium units in Mont Kiara and KL City Centre, shophouse conversions in PJ and Cheras, and hospitality projects across the Klang Valley.

Site assessments that account for orientation, natural light, and ventilation

Material knowledge suited to Malaysia's humidity and temperature range

Established relationships with quality local suppliers and craftspeople

Familiarity with JMB and management office requirements in strata properties

Understanding of typical contractor timelines and common build-phase issues locally

Photorealistic 3D renders included in the full design package

Full floor plans and furniture arrangement drawings

Detailed lighting plans showing fixture positions and circuit suggestions

Complete material specification documents with sourcing notes

Two included revision rounds at the design stage

Deciding with confidence, not imagination

When a design is only communicated through mood boards and technical drawings, clients often feel uncertain at decision points. 3D renders remove much of that uncertainty — you see the room with the proposed furniture, lighting, and finishes before anything is committed to.

Changes at the visualisation stage cost almost nothing. Changes after the build has started cost time, money, and goodwill. Good 3D work pays for itself many times over.

A process that doesn't add to your stress

Renovations are well-known for being stressful experiences. We can't change that entirely, but we can structure our involvement to reduce the number of decisions landing on you at once, keep you informed without flooding you with updates, and handle the coordination work that you shouldn't have to do yourself.

Clients who use our On-Site Coordination service consistently say the biggest benefit isn't the outcome — it's the reduction in daily anxiety during the build phase.

Single point of contact throughout the project

Regular, structured progress updates — not constant interruptions

Decisions batched and presented clearly, not drip-fed daily

Contractor issues handled directly, without involving you in every negotiation

Final walk-through and styling adjustments before handover

Fixed service fees published clearly on our solutions page

No percentage-of-project-value charges that scale with your budget

Entry-level option (MYR 430) that delivers genuine value without commitment

Services can be purchased independently or combined as needed

No retainer or ongoing subscription required

Pricing that's straightforward from the start

Interior design fees are often opaque — structured as percentages, retainers, or quoted only after an initial meeting where the relationship has already formed. We prefer to be upfront. Our three services have fixed fees that you can evaluate before reaching out.

You can start with a Spatial Consultation to explore what's possible before deciding whether to proceed with a full design engagement.

Things you won't find everywhere

Mood direction as a standalone deliverable

Our Spatial Consultation results in an actual document — not just a conversation. You leave with colour palette references, material directions, and layout ideas you can hold onto and act on independently.

Independence from contractors

We don't have preferred contractor arrangements that create hidden incentives. You appoint your own contractor and we work alongside them — keeping the design intent intact without adding a markup layer.

Privacy by default

We don't use client projects in marketing materials without their explicit approval. Your home isn't our content strategy. This matters to many of our clients more than they expected it to.

Limited client intake

We deliberately limit the number of projects we take on at any given time. This is how we ensure each project gets proper attention — not divided across a team stretched across 30 simultaneous jobs.
